REGNER® VISITS THE SPS TRADE SHOW IN NUREMBERG
The market demands more custom solutions

Àlex Chenoix has just returned from Nuremberg convinced that the industry has to change even more by designing customised solutions. “No one wants a standard product, but greater customisation and adaptation of the solution to the target application. The variety and range of customised products in linear movement solutions is limited,“ says Àlex after his visit to the SPS, Smart Production Solutions 2019 exhibition.
Àlex likes to keep abreast of the latest developments in the sector, to know what the competition is doing and to check the trends in motion control. As he always says “The SPS fair is a good barometer to indicate what’s happening.”

Checking new devices at the SPS fair: Àlex Chenoix, (third from the left), Raúl García (first from the left) and Lluís Llenas (second from the left).
For three days, from 26 to 28 November, professionals in the field of digital and industrial automation were able to exchange knowledge and experiences. The sectors represented at this fair were: control technologies, human-machine interface devices, industrial communication, industrial software, electric motors, interface technology, mechanical infrastructure and sensor technology.
At SPS it became clear that there are currently two distinct trends. On the one hand, the trend towards simplification in robotics with easy introduction to robots and intuitive operation; and on the other hand, the trend towards intelligent solutions with systems that have greater functionality, with more sensors and identification, and more customised drive systems.
“Electric actuator technology contributes significantly to more effective automation and digitalisation systems”
ÀLEX CHENOIX
Director of Marketing at REGNER®
In recent years we have certainly seen a positive expansion of the market. Àlex is clear about this: “Today automation and digitisation systems affect 99% of business processes. Electric actuator technology contributes significantly to making these systems more effective.”
Therefore, there are even more possibilities for generating business by providing tailor-made solutions. Highly qualified engineers, together with sales staff, have to work closely with customers to provide specific designs and systems for positioning and automation.
Àlex is confident that their dedication and enthusiasm for increased precision, automation, safety and comfort will inspire manufacturers with innovative ideas. Electric actuators can help make a number of applications more efficient, especially now that many companies are switching to electricity, changing their pneumatic and hydraulic systems for electric ones.

WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT:
OUR CONNECTION WITH THE CUSTOMER
Àlex has a degree in Advertising and Public Relations from the University of Vic (Barcelona). He is currently completing a degree in industrial engineering and feels comfortable talking about materials, engines, 3D printing, product testing and certification. With a Belgian father and a Spanish mother, communicating in different languages is an art he masters effortlessly.
As Marketing Director, he is responsible for REGNER®’s global communication activities and loves being able to combine two worlds in which he feels at home: communication and engineering. This is why he likes to be not only well informed but also involved in the innovation processes taking place in the company.
That means you’ll often find himamong the mechanical engineers asking how the fatigue test is going, or in the electronics department commenting on the results of the EMC report or with the R&D engineers exchanging opinions about a new PCB made of a different material.
He likes to soak up all the technical developments so that he can then understand the customer better. By understanding the type of linear solution the client needs, true communication can be established and long-term relationships built. In this way, Àlex becomes the optimal interface between sales, engineering and R&D to reach the customer.
Certainly, communication is connection with the client. We all feel a special affinity for a certain type of company with which we identify, feel comfortable and have a special connection.
How do you get this affinity, this connection with the client? By listening to the people at whom the product is aimed. Àlex knows a lot about that, the importance of always keeping lines of communication open with customers to offer products that meet their needs.
This is also the reason for his commitment to the design and implementation of an online shop featuring the most important REGNER® actuators. Against the opinion of many, he believed in the need for this new channel to establish a new type of communication.

The REGNER® online shop is an open channel wherecustomers can buy our products to conduct their first tests or trials, whether for a prototype or a short run. In this way, we offer the opportunity to have a first contact with the design and quality of our products, with the reliability of our solutions, with the efficiency of our shipments, in short, a first experience with REGNER® and its values.
After three years of operation, the REGNER® online shop has become a two-way communication channel. On the one hand, we provide our customers with knowledge about the possibilities offered by our solutions for linear movement, and on the other hand, our customers not only give us their opinions and suggestions on the design of our solutions but also involve us in their projects.
Through this communication, we’ve learned first-hand about new applicationswhere our actuators are being integrated and which our engineers would never have thought of at the outset.
We have also had discussions with manufacturers who would integrate our actuators if small changes were made. We’ve developed new designs for engineers who needed different types of actuators with specific requirements. In short, as Àlex says, connecting with customers is easy when it is based on honest communication and fulfilled promises.
